Thousands of people enjoyed the Taunton Show and Motor Show in 2012

The ORGANIZERS of the Taunton Show and Motor Show at Taunton School celebrated record attendance in July 2012.

The event, organized by the school in association with the County Gazette, was attended by more than 6,000 people.

Family Day featured a wide variety of stalls, booths and entertainment for all ages.

Attractions included the Go Commando obstacle course – run by Royal Marines from 40 Commando – a vintage car show and a food and craft marquee.

Many local car dealerships were also represented, including Mercedes, BMW, Vauxhall and SEAT, as well as show sponsors Silver Street Motors.

The event also featured the culmination of the elementary school air race.

Hambridge Primary School knocked Milverton Primary School out of first place after two years, with Sam Leethe and Ethan Hooper’s X30 car in 0.748.

The second fastest car came from Staplegrove Primary School with Laura Culverwell and Amber Monk’s The Bamber Rocket Car clocking 0.773s.

Hambridge had the third fastest car, Granny Mobile, made by George Clark, Harry Crowter and Lucy Carrington.

Nether Stowey walked away with the best presented car, Speed ​​Braker.

Milverton received the Best Presented Tag Team award with Elodie Moore and Grace Keen’s Party Girls.
