The Paris Motor Show is set for a return in 2022

  • Organizers of the biennial Paris Motor Show are planning a return next year.
  • The show hasn’t taken place in four years, but is now scheduled for October 17-23, 2022.
  • This time around, the plan is to partner with the Equip Auto show.

The Paris Motor Show will return in 2022 after a four-year hiatus, according to organizers, in partnership with the Equip Auto show to form a new show called Paris Automotive Week. The show took place every other year from the Frankfurt Motor Show. Paris last held a show in 2018 where debuts included the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Kia Niro EV and facelifted Porsche Macan. The 2020 show has been canceled due to COVID-19.

Event organizers say the event will run from October 17-23, in partnership with major trade show Equip Auto. It is planned to organize Paris Automotive Week on the Paris Expo site at Porte de Versailles as well as in remote locations. The organizers also indicate that the digital platform will be launched “over the next few weeks. It will offer automobile and transport multimedia content and will allow French and international visitors to register and find all the information they need.

The Mercedes EQC was one of the many novelties at the 2018 Paris Motor Show.

Like the SEMA show in Vegas, only people who work in the automotive industry can attend both sections of the show. The Equip Auto element of the show will focus on “after-sales services and connected mobility”.

The organizers did not specify which automakers would present their products at the show, but promised “a series of events, including inspirational talks and test drives.

“It will be a world first that will bring together professionals and the general public, while allowing the automotive industry to share its vision of the future of automobiles and transport with journalists and visitors from France and around the world” , organizers said.
