The new Renault 4 EV unveiled at the Paris Motor Show

The Renault 4 EV will be unveiled at the Paris motor show next month, with the electric reimagining of the classic model in the form of a small crossover.

Renault’s next EV will use the CMF-BEV platform it shares with Nissan and sit above the Renault 5 hatchback due in 2024.

Scheduled to land in 2025, the new Renault 4 will only share its name with the classic version, which was produced from 1961 to 1994.

The Renault group is developing new battery and electric motor technology, but has yet to confirm any of the 4’s technical specifications.

Alongside the presentation of the new electric crossover, Renault will present its new Kangoo E-Tech electric van, as well as the Mégane E-Tech Electrique crossover.

To conclude the French manufacturer’s celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Renault 5 throughout the year, Renault has also promised a “sporty and quirky show car”.

Mobilize, the Group’s mobility branch, will be present at the motor show to exhibit Mobilize Duo, the spiritual successor to Renault Twizy.

Alpine, the Renault group’s performance brand, will also present a new concept car which the firm says will show “the future of its product and sporting strategy”.

Alpine is set to embark on a bold electrification plan, with the car brand set to bring three new electric cars to market in 2024. Future models include the GT-X performance SUV and an electric successor to the A110 sports car.
