The British Motor Show: all you need to know about the upcoming event in Farnborough

Car fanatics head to Farnborough for four days of incredible activity this week.

The British Motor Show opens on Thursday August 19 at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre.

To open the show, the British Army Lightning Demonstration Team will jump from a plane and undertake an aerial display before landing in the live arena of the show.

During the four days of the show, car enthusiasts will be able to experience a wide range of activities, including live shows and exhibitions.

Motor show organizer Automotion Events has announced that there will be a Live Arena which will be hosted by TV star Mike Brewer.

Stuntman Paul Swift’s team will perform three stunts each day of the event, featuring side-driving and two-wheeling.

There will also be a daily supercar parade in which a number of cars will make noise inside the arena.

Also in the arena there will be a daily parade of classic cars and a daily show from some of motorsport’s most important exhibitors.

Visitors will also be able to experience the latest in automotive technology at the Tech Theatre, which will be hosted by veteran automotive journalist Shahzad Sheikh.

Each day the event will end with a game of motor football, which will be the British Motor Show’s own interpretation of Euro 2020.

Children are also welcome at the event, with opportunities for children to even get behind the wheel.

There will be go-kart experiences, driving lessons for under-17s and slot car races. Inside the show’s family area, visitors will find giant Scalextric, car wrapping and even car maintenance for kids.

Tickets are still available for anyone wishing to attend. Single day tickets for adults start at £18.50 and anyone wishing to attend all four days can purchase a four day pass for just £23.

A family ticket, for two adults and two children, is priced at £37

The organizers have confirmed that there will be same-day ticket availability, but these tickets may be limited in number.

Doors open at 10 a.m. daily and close at 6 p.m. every day except Sunday when the event ends at 5 p.m.

Anyone wishing to attend on Saturday is asked to book their tickets in advance.

Free parking is available just a ten minute walk from the Centre, a shuttle will also be available.

Visitors are requested to follow GU14 6BQ for general parking or GU14 6TQ for VIP and premium parking.

To ensure the safety of the Covid event, the organizers encourage all visitors to wear masks and if people are not double vaccinated, it is recommended that they take a lateral flow test before arrival.

Floor markings will be in place to indicate social distancing measures and an enhanced cleaning regime will be followed by staff.
