CHILDREN from Bright Warrington Nursery and Preschool improved their fine motor skills to design their own sunglasses in an arts and crafts activity.
Preschoolers have recently been tasked with exploring a range of materials to use and getting creative with designing their sunglasses for outdoor wear. Finished products included the use of colored tissue paper and cardboard.
Nursery manager Emma said: “Together they talked about what they needed to make their sunglasses and worked on their fine motor skills using scissors and threading different materials. All children are unique and develop at their own pace, gradually progressing through a series of stages before they can hold a pencil or pen to write. Our program then moves on to developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Arts and crafts are a particular aspect of the company’s Bright Beginnings program that allows children to experiment creatively and enhance their finer motor development.
