Mount Isa Motor Show this weekend | The Northwest Star

news, local news,

It’s that time of year to dust off your pride and joy, shine your chrome, and head to the Mount Isa Motor Show. The Mount Isa Motor Show takes place this Sunday at the Buchanan Park Event Complex with more attractions than ever. All the vehicles you love to see like Australian classics, modern muscle, European luxury and many more will be there. Food stalls run by local organizations and the local Queensland fire and emergency services will be back to show the jaws of life. Special guest Paton Family Racing Team will present their fun, ready-made car. The team is very excited to be working with the Mount Isa Community Markets this year to offer even more to look at with their Father’s Day Markets. The Bear’s Mechanical team will bring down the Dyno, so show us what you’ve got under the hood by naming today. At the special rate of $ 50, there has never been a better opportunity to see the power of your car. “That’s typical Mount Isa style. People will name the same day, I will,” said Brett Peterson, president of Mount Isa Motorsports and Recreation. Mr Peterson intends to display his 1923 Ford T Bucket and his 1965 Ford Cobra replica, although if he has time to prepare he could offer a Citroen 2CV as well. There are loads of prizes up for grabs with nine categories plus the public’s choice, voted on by the public. Participants are welcomed from 8 a.m. and the doors are open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Adults cost $ 5 and children under 12 are free. The day wouldn’t have been possible without our Platinum Sponsors, LAP Auto Center, Mount Isa Mining Supplies and Mount Isa City Council.
